Camps LGCC Has To Offer
Our 228 acres provides all the space needed for your child to eat, sleep, learn, play, and pray with dedicated Christian adults. All of our camp programming encourages it's campers to start, strengthen or build a relationship with Jesus. Our Lord and Savior are the reasons we exist as a camp and our programming will reflect that, as constituted by the LGCC Bylaws.
Main Camp With the capability of having 200 campers, if you like a large crowd, Main Camp is the place to be! You will experience faith related themes revolving around worship, scripture, recreation and missions. If you like to be with a large group of campers and if your style of camping includes air-conditioning and electricity, then Main Camp is for you!
Wilderness Camp a camp in the middle of the woods! One "hogan" (cabin) houses 14 boys and two male faculty. Another (separate) hogan houses 14 girls and two female faculty in a primitive location here at Little Galilee. Your time is filled with studying God’s Word though lessons, worship and fun outdoor activities. If you enjoy a smaller group and a more rustic setting where you are immersed in God's creation, then Wilderness Camp is your camp!
Outpost Camp is pitched on a secluded ridge. 8 boys, 8 girls, and 4 faculty stay in two 20 foot high tents. All cooking is done over an open campfire. Wake up to the sounds of creation, with sunshine streaming through your tent. This camp is truly an intimate experience with God’s creation for those who love to rough it!
Day Camps are a great one day experience for those not quite old enough to be away from home overnight. Scheduled to meet the needs for each age group, the daily schedule is similar to the full Main Camp programs. These two camps are for children entering 2nd or 3rd grade.
One Overnight Camps You experience a one night stay instead of an entire week. A jam-packed day and 1/2 full of lessons, worship, and Bible studies are all things you will be a part of! The daily schedule is similar to the full Main, Wilderness, or Outpost Camps. These sessions are for children entering 3rd or 4th grade.
First Chance Camp takes place at Main Camp and is for children entering 4th Grade. This three day, two night stay gives a taste of what it will be like to spend the whole week here.
Junior 3 Main Camp is also a three day, two night stay held at Main Camp for campers entering 5th and 6th Grade. If you are not ready for a full week stay, or if your parents aren’t ready for you to be gone that long, Junior 3 Main Camp is for you!
Cycling Camps are two separate camps for Jr. High and High School ages that provide daily treks for cyclists. Campers stay at Three Oaks Lodge and venture out to a new destination each day before returning back to enjoy all of the camp facilities. Whether you are a cycling enthusiast or a young recreational peddler, you will enjoy the sights of Central Illinois and the variety of activities offered throughout the week. Junior High Cycling Camp is for those campers entering 7th - 9th grade. High School Cycling Camp is for campers entering 9th - Graduates.
Jr. High Fishing Camp & High School Fishing Camp If you love to fish, then make sure you sign up for Fishing Camp! You will stay in the Three Oaks Lodge and fish our stocked lake and venturing outside of camp to some local hot fishing spots. Bible studies, prayer, and awesome lessons happen at this camp. Fish Camp also utilizes all of the "Large Activities" Pool, Zip Line, High Ropes, Giant Swing etc... Jr. High Fishing Camp is for boys 7th - 9th grades. The High School Fishing Camp is for boys entering 9th - graduates.
5th & 6th Grade Horse Camp This girls camp only is held at the Wilderness campsite and looks and feels a lot like a typical Wilderness camp. You will stay in the "hongans", have campfire, classes and lessons at the Wilderness campsite. Horse Camp enjoys all meals in the Dining Hall, same as main campers. Along with the Bible studies, swimming and other fun camp activities, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to ride horses and the responsibility that goes with taking care of these beautiful animals. This camp is designed for riders looking to learn the basics of horse riding. Horse Camp also has the "Horse Camp Showcase" at 2 p.m. on Friday for you to show your parents all the skills you have learned your week of camp! Camp dismisses immediately following the showcase.
Junior High Wildpost Camp combines the campers from Wilderness Camp and Outpost Camp into one camp. All daily activities will be done together. The meals are delivered each day from Main Camp. When the sun goes down and it is time for sleep, those who sign up for Wildpost Camp at Wilderness will sleep at Wilderness Camp while those who sign up for Wildpost Camp at Outpost Camp will sleep at Outpost Camp. Wildpost Camp costs an additional is to cover the paintball experience.
Mother/Daughter Retreat The Three Oaks Lodge is the place for mothers and their daughters to come and enjoy a fun time together. Events include a campfire, Bible study, swimming, and two delicious meals on Saturday! There will be a lot of free time for moms and daughters to spend time together! You may want to “adopt” a young lady that has no mom living at home!
Dads/Lads Retreat This event is for all Grandads, Dads, and lads and will be held at Three Oaks Lodge. There will be a lot of time for family units to spend good quality time together. You may want to “adopt” a young man that has no dad living at home! You will have a great time!
Family Camp 1 & Family Camp 2 takes place over Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, respectively. Stay in our Lodge or our Cabins by advance reservation. You can also bring your tent or camper. There are graded worship services, lots of free time to spend with your family, delicious meals and wonderful opportunities to meet and fellowship with other families.
Scrapbook & Craft Retreats At this women's retreat, you have the option to stay 1 night for $55.00, or 2 nights for $75.00. This amount includes 4 meals (Friday supper, Saturday brunch, Saturday supper, Sunday brunch) and lodging. The Retreat begins on Friday at 12:00 pm and ends on Sunday at 5:00 pm. Creative Memories will be at the retreat with tools to use and products to buy if needed.
